Ruth Somerfield has provided semiotic analysis and inspiration for many renowned international brands, and for major consumer and commercial markets across the globe. These include Unilever, Wrigleys, Nestle, Hyatt, De Beers, Coca-Cola, Range Rover, Ford, Diageo, Akzo Nobel and GSK.

Her experience covers sectors as diverse as beauty, personal care, homecare, pet food, retail, automotive, beverages, luxury, hospitality and FMCG, and for projects with an extensive global cultural reach - across Asia, Africa, Europe, South America, USA, and UAE.

Her clients include The Semiotic Alliance, A+B Studio, Johnston Works, Batten & Co (NYC), BBDO, Y&R, Sedley Place, Blue Marlin, and Carter Wong Design. Prior to moving into commercial semiotics and working with industry giant Greg Rowland Semiotics Ltd., she started her career within design consultancy for agencies which included Fitch, Carter Wong Tomlin and Lewis Moberly.
